Shishapangma lies in Tibet near the high peaks of Langtang in Nepalese border. Chinese authority opened this peak for the western mountaineers in 1978. Shishapangma is the last of 8000m to be climbed. Now the peak is considered one of the most straightforward 8000m. climbs via the North-West Ridge and the success of summiting the peak is quite high.

As Everest elaborates to Tibet/China, many climbers are now trying this world highest mountain from north ridge too. Approaching from the Tibetan side is also as challenge as from Nepalese side.

Mt. Baruntse 7129 meters snow peak lies in the heart of Everest region surrounded by some of the famous peaks of the world, Mt. Manaslu (Nepali: मनास्लु, also known as Kutang) is the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 metres (26,781 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas, in the west-central part of Nepal. Its name, which means "mountain of the spirit", comes from the Sanskrit word manasa, meaning "intellect" or "soul". Manaslu was first climbed on May 9, 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members of a Japanese expedition. It is said that "just as the British consider Everest their mountain, Manaslu has always been a Japanese mountain".

The Dhaulagiri massif in Nepal extends 120 km (70 mi) from the Kaligandaki River west to the Bheri. This massif is bounded on the north and southwest by tributaries of the Bheri River and on the southeast by Myagdi Khola. Dhaulagiri I is the seventh highest mountain in the world at 8,167 metres (26,795 ft) above sea level. It was first climbed on May 13, 1960 by a Swiss/Austrian/Nepali expedition.

Although Cho Oyu belongs to the above 8000m high mountain, it is consider as a relatively easier mountain than others. Many climbers planning their Everest expedition starting from Cho Oyu, so it believes to be start of Mt Everest in the next.

Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,485 metres (27,838 ft). It is located in the Mahalangur Himalayas 19 km (12 mi) southeast of Mount Everest, on the border between Nepal and China. One of the eight-thousanders, Makalu is an isolated peak whose shape is a four-sided pyramid.

Lhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world at 8,516 metres (27,940 ft), after Mount Everest, K2, and Kangchenjunga. Part of the Everest massif, Lhotse is connected to the latter peak via the South Col. Lhotse means “South Peak” in Tibetan.

Kanchenjungav is the third highest mountain in the world and second highest mountain of Nepal.It rises with an elevation of 8,586 m (28,169 ft) in a section of the Himalayas called Kangchenjunga Himal that is limited in the west by the Tamur River, in the north by the Lhonak Chu and Jongsang La, and in the east by the Teesta River.
